After finally going through almost all collections for next spring, I could divide two leading directions in which menswear is heading to.
One (and luckily) is still the minimal look, gaining more power with each season. With clean and polished silhouettes, 80’s volumes or 60’s cuts, the minimal look currently defines for me the contemporary male. The palette is mainly black and white, with a stronger grey presence than other seasons, bordeaux, dark green, blue and some pastels. Fabrics are light and layers and light draping are also on the menu.
Other trends for next season which I will not discuss here because of my personal taste are prints and colors. A lot of designers went for floral prints in bold colors, abstract ones and some pretty cool graphics. Though I’m a true believer that “less is more”, so here’s my top picks from my favorite men designers which I consider dictating the trends for the boys.
